FINAL FANTASY III/VII
What a joy it this game is! I was totally blown away by the depth of the character development. Each of the 14 characters is unique, but I finally managed to pick my favorites: Cyan the swordsman, who I always renamed Razor because he's so sharp, and Setzer, that silver-haired, free-spirited gambler. (Hmm...Could he be the inspiration for a certain villain?) Mog the Moogle is just too cute while his lumbering friend, Umaro, is a hoot to watch during battles.
Kefka's a perfect villain. Oh, that laughter of his!

I was also impressed by the game's graphics. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Final Fantasy Anthology, but when I did, I quickly realized how outdated those graphics are now. FFVII and FFVIII have changed my entire perception of RPGs, and nothing will ever be the same again! FFIII is still fun to play, however.
